Overview: The global economy presents uncertainty and financial pressure for individuals and businesses alike. For many business owners, financial pressure is a constant cause of stress, and with the state of the economy, the pressures are even greater. More significant is the impact that financial pressure has on the mental health and well-being of business owners. During this crisis, debt collection will be an arduous and unwelcome task. Fortunately, there are many avenues to manage debt and manage cash flow. Managing debtors and collections is a critical aspect of maintaining cash flow.

Objective: This short course covers ethical debt collection processes and methods to manage and monitor debt effectively. We address the principles, concepts and legal aspects of debt collection, monitoring debtors, methods for recovering debts, issuing letters of demand and what happens in court proceedings. Unfortunately, we also need to cover insolvency and bankruptcy, and how debts can be recovered.

Duration: Suggested reading and research time 120 minutes. A further few minutes are needed to complete the micro assessments which contain just 5 multiple choice questions per session.
